Wow. I haven't blogged in months. The thing is, I've started many times. I have tons of half-written entries saved as drafts. I have ideas that I've spun around in my head. But, the truth is, this weblog was started as a "lifestyle" blog. More specifically, I set out to create a blog about the shopping, decorating, entertaining lifestyle. But, over the past several months, it has begun to feel wildly disingenuous to write about nothing but china patterns and cute skirts. Oh, I still devote a lot of time to thinking about these things, but I guess they feel a bit extraneous when so many people I know are facing layoffs, budget cuts and setbacks.
So, welcome to the new MJM, y'all. I'll still post cute finds, but I want to blog more about books and movies and observations about Southern life. Like all works in progress, I'm sure it'll morph into something I can't even imagine right now.
In the meantime, I'd love to hear your input: What kind of blogs do you most enjoy? -- personal stories, fashion tips, travel, entertainment? What makes a blog "must-read" to you?
Thanks in advance for the input, y'all!
Cheers,
H

3 cheers!:
I like to read about it all, whatever should be on the blog author's mind. The best thing about blogging and reading other's blogs, is getting to know people that I would never have the chance to encounter here in the NW United States. Learning about all different types of people and their different lifestyles is absolutely fascinating. Blog whatever is on your heart and don't feel the pressure to stick to a certain topic or genre. Glad to have you back!
I like a little bit of everything--balancing lighthearted and more serious topics. Look forward to reading!

Welcome back!
I'm with Natalie. I like blogs that are a bit of a mish mosh instead of focusing solely on just one topic.
